UYLESS: Nails it on Ukraine
Once again Uyless Black is right on target. He makes the perfect case if the U.S. forces in Europe were positioned in Ukraine along other NATO nations armed forces when Vladimir Putin started moving his armed forces around Ukraine, Vlad most probably would have had very serious second thoughts about invasion.
But our beloved president and our NATO allies thought that wasn’t a good idea. Just like leaving Afghanistan without any decent planning was a good idea.
As Joe said, give our sanctions a month and let’s see how they are working. I am afraid Ukraine doesn’t have a month. I think we should spool up our domestic oil production and shut off the importation of Russian oil.
In 2021, we went from energy independence to importing 252 million 42-gallon barrels of Russian oil with a stroke of a pen. Do you realize that oil exports account for 60% of Russia income? 60% — cutting off that spigot would get their attention real quick.
Draining our oil reserves to soften the blow at the gas pumps is strictly another Democrat maneuver so things won’t look so bad prior to the November elections. Watch what happens to gas prices in December. I also believe China will think we are a paper tiger when it comes to Taiwan-all talk and no do. Ergo Ukraine.
