NJCAA WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS: Cardinals slide, take seventh at nationals

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — North Idaho College freshman Jett Strickenberger was the top local finisher in third-place at 125 pounds at the Mid-American Center on Saturday night.

Strickenberger defeated Clackamas wrestler Nicolas Aguilar in the third-place match via disqualification.

Freshmaen Ledger Petracek (165), Devin Winston (184) and sophomore Cohle Feliciano (285) each finished fourth. Freshman Alfonso Martinez was fifth at 157, freshman Brant Porter seventh at 133 and freshman Navarro Nanpuya seventh at 174.

The top eight received All-American status.

NIC, which had moved up to third after the consolation finals, finished seventh with 99.5 points. Region 18 rival Clackamas won its fourth-straight national title with 136.5 points.
