Martin Thomas McNamara

| June 26, 2022 1:00 AM

In loving memory of our father, Martin Thomas McNamara, who passed away on June 4, 2022, joining his parents, Thomas & Margret McNamara, and brother, Vince McNamara, in heaven.

Marty was the devoted husband of Sandy and loving father of Brad and Kim. He leaves behind his four sisters, two children, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, including his namesake continuing a generational passing of the name.

Our father was a gentle, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage.

Early in life, Marty learned the importance of hard work and integrity. He proudly served in the Airforce during the Cuban crisis. He maintained the engines and made sure our pilots were taken care of. He instilled that same work ethic in us.

Marty was always there for us and was a man of strong faith. His most impactful phrase we know was “Good evening, Lord”. He taught us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right.

He lived a full life, as a master mason, an avid outdoorsman, a friend, a father, a grandfather, great-grandfather and most importantly a husband of 58 years to Sandy McNamara.

He built up people's dreams and lives wherever he went. He was a strong man and a hero to many. Our father was a true role model who we will always look up to.

A memorial service will be held at Opportunity Christian on July 23, at 1 p.m., 708 N. Pines Road, Spokane Valley, WA 99206. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Union Gospel Mission or Wounded Warriors.

Dad (Papa), you are now at peace, but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
