QUESTION: What are your thoughts on the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade?

ANSWERS RECEIVED FRIDAY BY THE PRESS

“Regardless of a person's personal views on the subject, which in my opinion is private and differs between individual situation, there is nothing more frightening than a government overturning laws that dictate the individual's autonomy, especially when those individuals are in such vulnerable, emotional and complicated situations. The shame I feel extends past my government. The shame I feel today extends to my country, my brothers and my sisters, all that use their opinions to oppress, hurt, shame and control others.”

— Meagan Pattis, Coeur d'Alene

“As a single mom living in Idaho, I'm terrified... I'm actively watching basic human rights be stripped away. What's next?”

— Dusty Shipp, Coeur d'Alene

“I am deeply saddened by the Supreme Court's decision.”

— Mellisa Carlson, Post Falls

“Should be a state decision, not federal. If you don't like Idaho laws, that the people of this state voted (for), move to another state that lines with your beliefs. It's how the constitution was written.”

— Scott Charles, St. Maries

“They did the right thing... Finally! Human life should be protected even in the womb.”

— Christian Waco, Hayden

“It should be up to each state. Live in a state that agrees with your point of view.”

— Ida Jama, Coeur d'Alene

“Federal government got a little smaller, and thank God.”

— Amelia Ann Macy, Hayden

“Glad it’s overturned.”

— Cristi Brooks, Post Falls
