TINY HOUSES: Could be a solution

| June 24, 2022 1:00 AM

My stepdaughter planned on putting a tiny house in her yard (she has plenty of room) for us when we get old. Zoning went nuts over this. There was an architect in Coeur d’Alene years ago who tried to interest locals in tiny houses. At that time, housing here was inexpensive.

Why not allow tiny houses on people’s private home lots for grandparents, adult children, a family member in crisis, or just to rent and give the owner a source of additional income?

Or…what if LCDC built a tiny house community rather than condos for billionaires?

Another solution is to build houses and apartments sharing walls with no yards as one sees in New York City? I don’t have a lawn it suits me just fine.
