JAN. 6 HEARINGS: No hoax

| June 24, 2022 1:00 AM

Spin is something invented by politicians to justify actions considered unacceptable by their constituents. They try to make despicable acts acceptable to everyday citizens, people like you and I. The intent of spin is to manipulate our thinking. Brent Regan’s My Turn in Last Saturday’s Coeur d’Alene Press is a case in point. It has little to do with truth and everything to do with spin. He claimed the Jan. 6 hearings were a democratic schemes hoax. If that’s true, why are most witnesses Republican?

I was surprised at how many high ranking, courageous Republicans testified. They gave me hope for our political system. Motivated by their convictions, they stayed true to their oaths, to the U.S. Constitution and their office. Witnesses included members of the election staff, cabinet, attorneys to the White House and Mike Pence and more. Rusty Bowers, the Republican Speaker of Arizona insisted Rudy Giuliani provide evidence of election fraud. Giuliani told him “We have theories, no evidence.”

When there is testimony that states there is no evidence of election fraud, only theories, how can the election be stolen? Even now, after 19 months, no one has produced enough evidence to change the election. (View full hearings on YouTube. Decide for yourself.) The Jan. 6 Committee IS bipartisan, created when Republicans refused appointing an outside commission to investigate Jan. 6. Claiming hoax discounts testimony of about 20 upstanding Republicans, done to prevent voters from watching and deciding for ourselves. That is the very definition of spin.
