Kathleen Jean Best, 73

| June 21, 2022 1:00 AM

Kathleen Jean Best was called to Heaven on Oct. 30, 2021.

Kathy was born in Winona, Minn., on Jan. 27, 1948, and was a 44 year resident of Post Falls at the time of her passing. She grew up in Winona alongside her parents and three siblings. They then relocated to Garden Grove, Calif., where she graduated from Santiago High School. After marrying in 1966, Kathy worked as a labor and delivery nurse until moving to North Idaho with her family.

Everyone who had the pleasure to meet Kathy will remember her by her smile and willingness to listen to every problem you had. She loved to help fix those problems too!

Those who frequented Bob’s 21 Club know all about her listening ear, eagerness to fix and her excellent biscuits and gravy!

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Butch and Dolores Wamhoff and her brother, Carl.

She is survived by her sister Janice, her brother Eddie, a son John (who contributed to a lot of her grey hair that was expertly taken care of by her hairdresser, Kathy!) and his wife Janet, daughter Dianna and grandchildren Kane, Gage, Celeste, Lexie and John; great-grandchild Eleanor. There are also countless other lives she's touched.

We hope you dance. Warm and inviting. Her smile and laughter abounds.

We will miss you Mom.

A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday June 23, 2022 at St. Thomas Church Coeur d'Alene, Idaho at 8 a.m. with graveside service to follow at St. Thomas Cemetery Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Donations in Kathy’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society for colon cancer research.
