Kerry Noel Damiano

Kerry Noel Damiano was born in Redmond, Wash., on Jan. 1, 1988, to Leslie Sowards Damiano and Curtis Trackwell. Kerry moved with his mother and younger sister Shannon Marie to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where Kerry spent most of his life.

In July 1991, Kerry’s mother married Philip Damiano, who raised Kerry and his sister, Shannon, adopting both of them in 1996. Kerry grew up as the oldest and only boy in a family full of sisters. They welcomed sister Gianinna, born in 1993, and baby sister Elizabeth in 1999. Later welcoming adopted sister Anya from Siberia in 2003.

Kerry attended schools in Coeur d’Alene and Spokane, eventually graduating high school from Thomas Jefferson Senior High School in Minneapolis, Minn., in 2006. While in Minneapolis, Kerry attended Minnesota Teen Challenge, an experience he treasured his whole life.

Kerry was a very talented athlete, playing football, basketball and baseball along with waterskiing, snowboarding, skateboarding, scuba diving and handball. He enjoyed camping and fishing and earned the Life Badge in Boy Scouts.

Along with his athletic pursuits, Kerry loved and had a passion for music. Kerry became an excellent guitar and drums player and played many styles of music from Christian worship to heavy metal. He spent many thousands of hours listening to and playing music.

Kerry was an intelligent young man who had a quick wit. He was very funny and had everyone in the room laughing most of the time. Kerry loved his family and loved spending time with his three beautiful children, siblings, parents, grandparents and cousins that lived in southern Idaho. He loved spending time at the Damiano Ranch in Harrison, Idaho.

He had a passion for fishing in Alaska and travel. A highlight was a trip to Egypt with his grandparents. Kerry made lifelong friends and is remembered by many as a smart, thoughtful, funny goofball who lived life outside traditional boundaries. Kerry also was a Christian who believed in and had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Kerry was a welder by trade, who also learned how to skillfully operate many different types of equipment. From skid steers, backhoes, forklifts and tractors, he could operate all of them.

Kerry married the love of his life, Mary Maeder, in 2016 and leaves behind three young children; Gabryal, Kayden and Danyel. Kerry passed away peacefully on July 20, 2022, surrounded by his father, mother and siblings. He will be missed by many, but never forgotten.

Kerry is survived by his father and mother, Philip and Leslie Damiano; siblings Shannon Milliano (Sarah), Gianinna Damiano and Elizabeth Damiano; adopted sister Anya Rost (Josh); sons Gabryl Maeder, Kayden Damiano and Danyel Damiano; ex-wife Mary Maeder; and many aunts, uncles, grandmothers, nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thanks to members of The Altar Church and the Good Samaritan Program who loved Kerry so much.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022, at The Altar Church, 901 E. Best Ave., Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at Harrison Cemetery in Harrison, Idaho.
