PUBLIC ART: Money could be better spent

In one of the editions of The Press last week was an article about the art work done on the new parking garage downtown.

A couple of days later there’s an article in the paper about the police department being shorthanded and the difficulty of hiring new cops for one reason or another.

Going back to the artwork on the parking garage. Do we really need artwork on a parking garage to the tune of $80,000+? There are plenty of places that money could have maybe helped some people. I agree, probably not the police department or the schools, but how about a food bank or the homeless?
