| July 24, 2022 1:00 AM

Kenneth "Ken" Norman Suhr, was born July 2, 1930, in Freemont, Neb., to Martin and Hazel (Hansen) Suhr. Ken lost his father at the age of 6. He was a devoted son who cared for his mother until her passing.

In 1951, Ken was drafted into the Army and served in the Korean War as a mechanic. Ken was a patriot and loved his country. After his time in the service, Ken became a long-haul truck driver and loved seeing the country.

He had two children, Scott Allen Suhr and Hayley (Suhr) Lake-Hoerner. He met the love of his life, Lois Wagner, in 1983 and the two of them lived happily at their home in Hayden, Idaho, for the past 39 years.

Ken enjoyed March Madness and playing cribbage. Ken also loved his apple orchard, canning and feeding the birds. He had a soft spot for animals and would take in any stray, but most of all he loved his partner, Lois.

One of Ken’s greatest accomplishments was being sober 52 years. He loved the fellowship of AA and helping others achieve sobriety.

Ken is preceded in death by his brothers, Vernon Suhr (Euless, Texas), Marvin Suhr (Freemont, Neb.) and Ivonne Penner (Arvada, Colo.).

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave., Spokane, Wash.
