Kroc Center partners with NomNom to help students

| July 22, 2022 1:00 AM

Community members are invited to help the Salvation Army Kroc Center and the Coeur d’Alene NomNom convenience store and gas station raise funds to support local students in need of school supplies.

Each year during the month of July, Coeur d’Alene NomNom employees, with the help of generous community members, raise thousands of dollars for Backpacks for Kids. Last year, the NomNom team raised over $5,000, a goal they seek to surpass this July.

Community members who wish to help can visit the store, formerly Cenex ZipTrip, and round up their change for Backpacks for Kids when they fill up at the gas pump or buy a snack. Donations can also be made without making a purchase.

NomNom will host an outdoor barbecue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, July 22 with $1 hot dogs and $1 raffle tickets to win gifts.

“This will be a fun day for all,” said Jason Hiatt, NomNom Coeur d’Alene store manager. “To make this a successful event, I have issued a challenge to my employees and the community to match my personal $100 donation. Stop by, donate $1, $10, $100 – whatever you can. Let’s make sure this is another successful year and show our support for students in our community.”

NomNom is at 1427 Best Avenue (corner of Best Avenue and 15th Street) in Coeur d’Alene. The Backpacks for Kids fundraiser ends July 31.
