TAX CUT: Working class stiffed
Once again the middle and working class go to the back of the line. One has to wonder about the motives of Governor Little and the Idaho House, passing HB436 in a blink. Does anyone really believe that tax cut is for the working class?
We have to have a balanced budget. Something has to happen with the surplus this year. Why does the extra money this year result in a $250 million tax cut for the most wealthy citizens for every year in the foreseeable future?
I saw one article that said businesses will move here if taxes are cheap. Actually, businesses move to states where the students are well educated and can become good employees!
How about putting enough funds in education so every child can perform at state standards? Fully fund education so businesses know Idaho can provide well-educated employees. The proposed boost to education is a start, but it isn’t nearly enough.
Or how about repealing the grocery tax? That break will impact every citizen over the long haul. It will help those in minimum wage jobs, and young families and everyone else who feels the strain of COVID-caused inflation.
Let frontline workers, police, firemen and teachers know you care about them. The wealthy are not overwhelmed by five grand. It sounds to me like the politicians are setting the stage for getting that money back in kickbacks, I mean donations. Is this another situation where corporations come before the people?
