ISSUES: Four kudos

Thumbs up to:

• The Idaho Republican Party decision to reject the Bonneville County RCC proposal that would only lead to further extremism in our state and local governance.

• Coeur d’Alene City Council in accepting the ARPA windfall to invest in the betterment of our community. I personally have not seen any credible mainstream news organizations document these federal strings that will hijack our freedoms. I’m certainly open to facts demonstrating otherwise. Here’s trusting the County Commission to follow suit.

• The Coeur d’Alene Press first for being in existence at all when many communities have lost their newspapers. Secondly for Herculean attempts to present balanced reporting which is ever more difficult in our divisive environment. While the extremists on the right shout “biased,” I fully expect The Press will report with equal fervor should extremists on the left rear their heads.

• Finally, thumbs up to our health care heroes and those serving on various boards striving to do what is right for their particular organizations and the community at large. Imagine the added difficulty in doing your work with your least favorite music turned up to volume 10 screaming at you constantly.
