| January 21, 2022 1:00 AM

Donna Jean Faris, age 67, of Hayden, Idaho, passed away Saturday, Dec. 25, 2021, at North Idaho Advanced Care Hospital in Post Falls, Idaho.

She was born July 24, 1954, in Inglewood, Calif., to her parents, Donald and Virginia Blazer. Her parents gave her a love for camping and hiking. She went to Westchester High School before her family moved to Lake Havasu City, Ariz. She graduated from Lake Havasu High School in 1972 and continued her education at Yavapai Junior College in Prescott, Ariz., with an associate degree in business and computers.

She married William Bruce Faris in 1978 in Lake Havasu and continued to work at First Interstate Bank while William worked at the hospital as a scrub tech in surgery. They both met on the public tennis courts and continued their love for the sport. They also traveled and hiked and camped all over the western United States. Bill and Donna discovered snow skiing too and her favorite place was Brian Head Ski Resort in Utah.

She is survived by her husband, two close sisters, their husbands, and nephews and nieces.

Donna and Bill were devoted church members of Wesley Chapel Church in Lake Havasu and were teen leaders there. Donna continued to work and put Bill through college at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff so he could get his degree in Physical Therapy.

After college, they both worked for one year in Phoenix before moving to Northern Idaho. They fell in love with the hiking, camping and skiing in their new area in Idaho.

Bill then worked and retired from Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene and Donna worked and retired from Wells Fargo Bank in Hayden.

Donna and Bill were members of the Church of the Nazarene and taught the third and fourth graders in Sunday School for 13 years.

The Faris family would like to thank North Idaho Advanced Care Hospital and Kootenai Health for caring with kindness and dignity.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at The Church of the Nazarene, 4000 N. Fourth Street, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. A time for viewing will be held from 1-1:50 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
