COUNTY: Panel a ‘laughingstock’

Commissioner Fillios,

The study commission started admirably by gathering facts and data. Now that the analysis stage has been reached, the commission has strayed from their task. The majority of the commission is ignoring the overwhelming evidence against a change to further their agenda of pushing an alternative form of government on the citizens. Botting is a laughing stock and single handedly brings shame to the entire commission. He makes disparaging comments about county staff, other elected officials and the commissioners. He specifically ignores facts and makes up information. His peculiar opposition to examining any financial aspect of an alternative form is irresponsible and an abuse of power.

The commission is an embarrassment. What could have been a legitimate study has come a farce. To save the taxpayers further burden and strife, please disband the study commission immediately before the public hearing and the biased, illogical report is written. The voters will not pass an alternate form of government. It’s not too late to save face. Do your part to help unite our community again and be the admirable man in these tumultuous times. Don’t let this debacle be your legacy as a commissioner.
