Cougar women call off

weekend games with Oregon schools

This weekend's Washington State women's basketball games against Oregon and Oregon State were postponed due to COVID-19 protocols within the Cougs' program.

The Oregon State game was scheduled for Friday, while the Oregon State game was Sunday. Both games were scheduled for Beasley Coliseum.

The teams and Pac-12 Conference are working to reschedule the games, with a finalized date to be announced.

Gonzaga women to play

San Francisco on Feb. 7

The Gonzaga women's basketball team will now host San Francisco on Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. in Spokane.

Tipoff between the Zags (12-4, 3-0 West Coast Conference) and San Francisco (7-10, 1-4) is scheduled for 6 p.m., and will be broadcast on the WCC Network. The teams were scheduled to play on Dec. 30.

Season tickets for the previously scheduled game will be valid for the Feb. 7 game. Single game tickets are now available for purchase at www.gozags.com/tickets.

Potter returning to

Boise State football staff

Former Boise State standout student-athlete and coaching staff member Nate Potter is returning to his alma mater as run game coordinator and tight ends coach, head coach Andy Avalos announced Wednesday.

Potter, selected to the Boise State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018, had spent the last three seasons (2019-21) at Montana State as tight ends coach, helping to lead the Bobcats to the Football Championship Subdivision title game this past year.

“Nate Potter is one of the young, up-and-coming coaches in our industry,” Avalos said. “It just so happens that he’s also a former Bronco, having spent time here both as a coach and a player, and understands what we’re building. We are looking forward to having him back in the facility and mentoring the next generation of Broncos.”

Potter spent the 2014-17 seasons on the Broncos’ coaching staff, his first as a quality control assistant and his final three as an offensive graduate assistant.
