POST FALLS — Law enforcement handled a road rage incident that reportedly stemmed from a close call on black ice.

A woman contacted police Saturday to report that a male driver in a red vehicle was chasing her after she slid on black ice and nearly hit him.

After the near-miss, the woman said, the other driver pursued her “recklessly.”

He allegedly passed her and slammed on his brakes, forcing her to stop suddenly.

She said the man then got out of his vehicle and approached her, “flailing his arms and screaming.”

The woman told police she was able to drive around him and leave.

When contacted by law enforcement, he allegedly screamed at the responding deputy.

Police completed an assault and reckless driving report on the male driver, who has not been publicly identified.
