KCSO Search and Rescue volunteer finds missing person

WORLEY — A Kootenai County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue volunteer and a canine found a missing/endangered person Wednesday night.

The Kootenai County 911 Center received a call about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday from a resident in the Conkling Park area who said his wife was missing. He said she suffers from Alhzeimer’s disease.

Deputies from the KCSO and Coeur d’ Alene Tribal Police officer’s began looking for the woman. The KCSO Volunteer Search and Rescue Unit was also activated.

About 9:15 p.m., volunteer K9 handler Lindsay Halverson, with K9 Birdie, found the patient in the snow near the residence.

Worley medical personnel transported the patient to Kootenai Health where she was treated for mild hypothermia.
