Weather pushes Fight for the Fish spirit games back two weeks
They waited one more year to play the "annual" Fight for the Fish boys and girls spirit basketball games between Coeur d'Alene and Lake City high schools.
Now they'll have to wait another two weeks.
Friday night's Fight for the Fish games — along with most other basketball games in North Idaho — were postponed in the aftermath of the mess of Thursday's snowstorm, followed by rain.
The Fight for the Fish games will now be held Friday, Jan. 21 at Coeur d'Alene, with the girls at 5:30 p.m. and the boys at 7.
Coeur d'Alene's boys and girls games at Lake City, originally scheduled for Jan. 21, were moved to Tuesday, Jan. 11, with the girls at 5:30 p.m. and the boys at 7.
Lake City girls' home game vs. West Valley, scheduled for Monday, was rescheduled for Jan. 27.
Other postponed basketball games from Friday were: Post Falls boys and girls at Lewiston; Lakeland boys and girls at Sandpoint, Bonners Ferry boys and girls at Timberlake, and Clark Fork girls at Lakeside.
The Post Falls-Lewiston games were rescheduled for today in Lewiston, with the girls at 1:30 and the boys at 3.
Post Falls' boys home game vs. Ridgeline, which was scheduled for today, was postponed.
Timberlake also canceled today's girls basketball home game vs. East Valley.
No makeup dates were announced for the other postponed games.
