INFLATION: It’s downright flaky

Last week we went to a local grocery store and purchased a large box of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes. I found a change in the shape of the box. The box I bought last month was 24 ounces. This box was the same height but much narrower and now has 18 ounces.

A month ago the 24-ounce box was $6.49, which is 27 cents an ounce. Now the 18-ounce box is $5.49 and costs 30.5 cents per ounce.

This is just one item on the shelves of the grocery stores. Pay attention to the change in ounces — sometimes cleverly hidden in the packaging.

Hang on to your hats as this is just the beginning!
