ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Kamryn Pickford, Lake City High

Kamryn Pickford

Lake City High

Pickford, a 5-foot-8 sophomore guard, hit four straight free throws in the fourth quarter, seven total, to finish with 13 points for the Timberwolves in a 59-46 win over Rigby in the state 5A girls third-place game on Saturday at Ridgevue High in Nampa. “Kamryn’s been our top free throw shooter all year,” Lake City coach James Anderson said. “Her going to nationals (of the Elks Hoop Shoot in 2017) is something that’s always in the back of my mind. She’s shot free throws under more pressure, and she did a great job.”
