PRESS: ‘Woke’ won’t work
On Thursday’s front page were an article about achieving Neighborliness in our community and one from HREI trying to cast aspersions on the good people of our community through fear. Until this paper represents the true majority of our community, the Republican Party and its Platform, there will only be continued propaganda that is destructive to those goals.
For example, the local Republican Party had it’s Annual Lincoln Dinner at the Resort (owned by the same people that own The Press) where all the bays were rented, holding an overflow crowd of 730 people to join together and hear from Dinesh De Souza, U.S. Rep. Russ Fulcher, U.S. Senator Mike Crapo, Lt. Governor Janice McGeachin and patriotic speeches from three young Americans who received generous grants among others who contributed to make the night a fun, beautiful and successful evening in support of the majority of voters in Kootenai County.
Wouldn’t you think there would even be a back page snippet in the paper? No.
I have taken The Press for 27 years and am disgusted in the politically correct and “woke” direction it has taken in recent years. Now everything printed is an attempt to marginalize and attack the philosophy of the majority of local citizens.
Unfortunately, the “Neighborliness” story sounds like just more insincere propaganda. Actions speak louder than words.
