DRIVER: Definitely seeing red
I was heading south on Government Way approaching the intersection of Kathleen Avenue. As I approached the left turn lane (east), all lights were red yet the car ahead of me still turned east while the cars turning north and south barely missed colliding with this car. I was disgusted at the near miss collision this person caused and I know it was a transplant.
Attention people new to North Idaho!
Pay attention to the traffic lights!
If it’s red it’s for a reason, so stop and please wait for green or yellow.
I don’t want to be killed. I don’t want my son or anyone else to lose their lives because you cannot grasp the concept of a red light.
And attention to the Coeur d’Alene police. Fourth Street heading north from the roundabout to Prairie, where the speed limit is 25 mph, a lot of people don’t care. I’ve been tailgated and from a distance behind have seen speeds register as high 38 mph but they keep going. Please start writing some tickets. They don’t check their speed — they need to check themselves with attitude! Please patrol this area because it’s getting bad! Thank you if you get this plea.
Please drive safely, transplants to North Idaho, because I’m going for a triple digit lifespan and I don’t want a red light runner to take away that goal. Thank you.
