IDITAROD: Mean moose motives

Unfortunately, musher Bridgett Watkins had four of her sled dogs stomped by a bull moose in the wilds of Alaska. The dogs survived. Unfortunately for the moose, he was shot (Press/AP article).

Rookie Watkins was on a training run for the nearly 1,000-mile Iditarod Race which starts in March.

Had the moose survived, perhaps he could have been sent to anger management class! Maybe the moose had lost a mom or sister to wolves? Sled dogs look like wolves!

Now the big bull could have been better educated! He didn’t know the difference between a dog and wolf. He did not realize tethered “wolves” cannot hurt any of his moose clan.

He was shot at repeatedly. He should have retreated. Guns trump hooves.

So where is GOD in all this? HE created wolves, moose and man. Sometime in the future (Isaiah 11:6,9): “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb. The leopard shall lie down with the young goat…And a little child shall lead them…They shall not hurt nor destroy in all MY holy mountain. For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD…”

Definitely the surviving sled dogs deserve an extra portion of moose meat treat!
