North Idaho College returns to the wrestling mat for the first time since Jan. 15, competing in the West District Championships today on the campus of Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Ore.

The top two placers in each weight advance to the NJCAA tournament March 4-5 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. Eight wild-card berths are also available.

NIC’s lineup includes: freshman Brandon Bollinger (165 pounds), freshman Alfonso Martinez (157), sophomore Navarro Nanpuya (197), freshman Ledger Petracek (174), freshman Brant Porter (149), freshman Jett Strickenberger (133), freshman Hunter Suter (285), sophomore Cohle Feliciano (285), freshman Devin Winston (197) and freshman Sam Silveria (157).

NIC last competed in the National Duals four weeks ago in Miami, Okla.

Nanpuya (fourth at 197 at nationals), Feliciano (fourth, 285) and Bollinger (fourth at 165) were All-Americans at nationals in 2021.

Districts were canceled in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Each team qualified all 10 wrestlers to the NJCAA Tournament, where Clackamas has won three straight titles.
