MY TURN: Hayden matters
In light of recent events regarding one single word taken out of context in an inaugural Hayden City Council meeting, I would like to address some derogatory statements made about myself by a fellow Hayden City Council member and the mayor.
I am disappointed by actions taken by Mayor Griffitts and Councilman Saterfiel, in that they chose to go to The Press with their own assessments of my use of one word without giving me the common courtesy of verifying with me first my intent.
Instead of mentoring me, a newly elected official, they chose instead to read evil motives into one harmless word. Rather, we should be able to get right to the work of serving the citizens of Hayden.
We have important work ahead of us, and my hope is that we can work together and support one another in a manner befitting public servants in a mature fashion. I am willing to be gracious and accept an apology if offered.
