McGEACHIN: Bill belongs to you

It is more than ironic that our illustrious Lt. Governor has incurred significant legal fees for failures to respond correctly to multiple freedom of information requests that resulted in court ordered financial sanctions against her. Now she wants the taxpayers to pay for those sanctions and her “outside” attorney’s fees.

The problem is that she asked “our” legal department (the Idaho AG’s Office) for advice, but when it WASN’T the advice she WANTED to hear, she decided to find another legal adviser who would tell her what she WANTED to hear, despite the fact that the opinion was WRONG!

Now, she wants us to pay for her ignorance and inability to accept that she was WRONG in the first place! As far as I’m concerned, when she decided to seek advice from outside the AG’s office, she was hiring her OWN attorney at her OWN expense, not ours. She doesn’t deserve a single cent from the taxpayers of Idaho to subsidize her wingnut ideas and projects!
