ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Grant Roth, Lakeland High School

Grant Roth

Lakeland High School

The senior forward scored 20 points as the Hawks defeated Post Falls 57-44 on Saturday — snapping a 27-game losing streak to the Trojans. Lakeland had last beaten Post Falls on Jan. 25, 2001. Roth was 7 of 9 from the field, including 2 of 2 on 3-pointers, and had four rebounds, three assists and two steals. "At 6-foot-4, he is tough to guard because he shoots the ball really well and and go inside," Lakeland coach Tony Hanna said. "Grant is the kind of player a coach loves — very soft-spoken and kind, but works extremely hard on the court and in the classroom."
