ROCKFORD BAY DEATHTRAP: Dangerous intersection

The intersection where Loffs Bay Road diverges from Rockford Bay Road is a deathtrap. If it has not happened already there will be fatalities at that intersection.

There are signs to indicate that traffic on Rockford Bay Road has priority but the alignment of the roads is totally misleading and fools many people into thinking that Loffs Bay Road traffic has priority. The present signage is not protecting road users in the slightest. To protect them the intersection must be realigned or “all-way” stop signs installed.

This situation has existed for at least 27 years that I know of. Back then there was little traffic on these roads but the volume has multiplied many times since then.

Considering the enormous increase in tax revenue associated with the Rockford Bay area it’s unconscionable that the highway department has failed to address this obvious issue. Will it only act when someone is killed? What will its inaction cost the county when it is sued for negligence?

Please, please, please get it fixed ASAP.
