The Rathdrum Craft and Farmers Market is celebrating two milestones.

The weekly market just received its nonprofit status. It also recently moved from the Rathdrum Community Center to the Rathdrum Lions Clubhouse at 16114 N. Meyer Road, where it is already partnering with the benevolent organization to do more good in the community.

“We love it there, oh my word,” Rathdrum Craft and Farmers Market founder and President Sandra Cook said Tuesday. "Our firm belief is to be a community-focused market. We like to raise money for people in need. The Lions Club does so much for the community, it’s just perfect."

The Rathdrum Craft and Farmers Market opens at 9 a.m. each Saturday through Sept. 24. The new nonprofit pays a rental fee, but donates 25% of its vendor fees to the Lions Club.

During the market's two-day Family Fall Festival Oct. 22 and 23, it will donate 50% of its vendor fees to the Lions Club.

"We love to help the community and look forward to what new opportunities arise with this new chapter," Cook said.
