SCHOOL LEVY: Unreasonable request

I took a look at what the proposed school levy would do to my property taxes based on last year’s assessment and total taxes.

Based on last year’s data the proposed school levy would have raised my property taxes by 8%. 8%! And that is before this year’s assessment almost doubled, meaning the school levy will be in the 12-15% range.

With food, fuel and other staples going up double digits or more our school district is saying now is the time to pile on. You have got to be kidding. Why couldn’t you have asked for something more reasonable?

Inflation is causing all of us huge headaches and the school district wants to make it worse. If you had proposed something more reasonable I may have considered it. But this ask is a resounding no!
