MOTORCYCLE SAFETY: Laws need more teeth

| August 12, 2022 1:00 AM

Does anyone have any ideas on who I can talk to as far as protecting motorcyclists from drivers texting and driving/distracted driving?

To up the ticket or actual prison time for killing someone with their car?

All they get is “fail to yield” when they blow a stop sign killing a man.

The ticket price for texting and driving is $131 in Idaho! And that’s if they even get a ticket and not a “warning.” That’s all they get. Up that ticket to $1,000 and maybe they’ll think twice about doing it again.

DUIs are getting cited and released. The tickets need to go up. The police need to enforce it.

There needs to be jail time for distracted drivers, prison time when they kill someone despite their age.

Something needs to be done! What can we do?

Myself like so many others part of the motorcycle community are tired of seeing our loved ones killed by distracted drivers. Please help get the word out. Help us make a change in our community.
