Clouds before the storm

Mammatus clouds hang over Lake Coeur d'Alene Thursday in advance of major thunderstorms that moved into the area around 5:30 p.m. Mammatus is a cellular pattern of pouches hanging underneath the base of a cloud, typically a cumulonimbus raincloud.
