Dalton Gardens to consider 3% property tax hike

DALTON GARDENS — The Dalton Gardens City Council is proposing to take the allowable 3% increase in property taxes for its 2022-23 budget.
It will hold a hearing on its proposed 2022-23 budget during its 6 p.m. meeting at City Hall on Thursday.
A budget workshop will precede it from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
The $1.2 million budget includes $438,000 for streets; $157,740 for code and law enforcement; and $396,277 for city operations and staff.
The 3% tax hike is projected to generate $173,986
The proposed budget is down slightly from last year's.
The city expects to received $417, 695 in state liquor allocation and state revenue sharing.
