The Lake City Harmonizers Barbershop Chorus performed July 19 at the American Lutheran Church Ice Cream Social in Kellogg.

This was the singing group's first public performance in more than two years.

Because of COVID-19 restrictions and concerns, the chorus has rehearsed via Zoom to continue to learn music and keep the group together.

The Kellogg performance was well-received. It was a long-overdue reward for all involved, especially for the singers.

A few years ago, the international Barbershop Harmony Society began allowing women to join the previously all-male organization. As a result, the local group has several female members, improving the sound of the Harmonizers. This performance for the Kellogg church was one of the chapter’s first to include the new female members.

The Harmonizers, a nonprofit organization, has entertained area audiences and raised funds for charities since 1980. The chapter is always looking for new singers to join the chorus, which meets at 7 p.m. every Tuesday evening at Bell Tower Chapel, 3398 E. Jenalan Ave., Post Falls.
