Cougar women sign

Finland guard Eklof

Washington State women's basketball coach Kamie Ethridge announced the signing of Cia Eklöf, a 5-10 guard from Helsinki, Finland. Eklöf is the fourth addition to WSU's 2022 signing class.

"Cai Eklöf is the final piece to our 2022-23 roster. Adding another dynamic and versatile combo guard that has the ability to shoot the 3 and attack the rim was a priority for us this spring. We believe Cia's experience playing in the top professional league in Finland has prepared her to step in and play early in her career."

Eklöf was one of the youngest players to play the Korisliiga, the top women's basketball team in Finland, last season. She appeared in 17 games for Torpan Pojat in a reserve role. She averaged 4.8 points per game in 12.4 minutes of action per game. The 5-10 guard has also been a member of Finland's U-16 and U-20 National Teams and won the U-16 Finnish Championship.

"Cia has played point guard most of her career and has a great mind for the game. She will bring an exciting brand of basketball to the court and a commitment to excellence off the court. Her work ethic, leadership skills and ambition to compete at the highest level makes Cia a perfect fit for our Coug team."
