COUNTY: Follow Fillios’s lead
Not yet officially announced, your new manager of Kootenai County’s government structure will be Mr. Brent Regan, head of the KCRCC. This will happen if Commissioner Chris Fillios loses his re-election bid on May 17.
This will give Brent Regan control of two of the three seats on your Kootenai County Board of Commissioners. These two people, one already a Commissioner and one only a candidate, both supported by the KCRCC, claim to be Republicans, but are in fact Libertarians,
Birchers or some other version of the fringe element of the far right.
They want to retain the right to vote for all the county department heads, but do not want the rest of us to have the right to vote on the Alternate Forms of Government Commission recommendations.
Commissioner Fillios should join Commissioner Brooks now, immediately, to sign an order placing the Alternate Forms Commission’s original final recommendation on the ballot for November, giving all county voters the opportunity to choose their desired form of county government.
I also encourage you to vote for incumbent Commissioner Chris Fillios, a wise, honest and experienced county commissioner.
MIKE ANDERSON
Coeur d’Alene
Chairman of the original Alternate Forms of County Government Commission
