AIRLINE CAPTAIN: We can reach higher
I was very pleased to read the Airline Captain’s Report in Tuesday’s Coeur d’Alene Press. Not just because I am a veteran but because it shows and tells of how true Americans should behave…respectfully. I had tears running down my face after I completed the story as did my wife, Lisa.
I am so disturbed by the actions of Americans today and yes, even here in beautiful North Idaho. The divisiveness, the extremism by both politically left and right. The hate, the bulliness and the name calling is all too much.
The NIC debacle and what’s going on with the city council meetings around here is just an embarrassment. Are we that caught up in anything that is controversial, I ask? Civility is missing and we desperately need it back.
I encourage all to read the Airline Captain’s Report story and maybe, just maybe it can help restore some respect for each other around here, so The Press can report on something other than us versus them and vice versa.
Wake up, people, this is America. If there is somewhere else you would prefer to live, now is a very good time to sell your house and move.
