PREP ROUNDUP: Vikings take seventh at Eileen Northcutt invite

SPOKANE — Taylor Potter shot a 90 to lead the Coeur d'Alene girls to a seventh-place finish at the Eileen Northcutt Invitational at Wandermere Golf Course on Friday.

"The girls did awesome today," Coeur d'Alene girls golf coach Jeff Lake said. "I could not be more proud of their effort and results today. Our hard work at practice is delivering results."

Coeur d’Alene finished with a 272. Lake City was 13th with a 305 in the 21-team tournament.

Taylor Mularksi of Mead shot a 2-under par 67 to win medalist honors, leading the Panthers to the team title with a 230.

PRIEST RIVER — Priest River’s Luke Butler and Kellogg’s Archie Rauenhort finished tied for medalist with a 69 at an Intermountain League match at The Ranch Club.

Bonners Ferry’s Braylyn Bayer was girls medalist with a 78.

Priest River won the boys team title and Bonners Ferry won the girls team title.

The next IML match is Thursday at The Links in Post Falls.

Wood, Peters go 1-2 in

3,200 at Knight invite

BOISE — Post Falls distance runners Samantha Wood and Annastasia Peters finished 1-2 in the 3,200-meter run for the second time in six days, taking the top two spots at the Knight Invitational at Bishop Kelly High,

Wood, a senior, won in 10 minutes, 53.24 seconds, followed by Peters in 11:17.07. The duo also took the top two spots at the Pasco Invitational on April 16.

Post Falls junior Trevor Miller won the shot put with a throw of 50 feet, 9 ½ inches. Senior Chase Berg was third in the triple jump (41-7 ½).

Senior Skilar McLean was second in the girls triple jump (34-8) and senior Amy Madsen third in the pole vault (10-0). The Trojan girls are second with 38 points, trailing Bishop Kelly, which has 52.29. Bishop Kelly leads the boys meet with 78 points.

The Trojan boys 4x800 relay team of Daniel Hibbs, Gavin Calkins, Luke Roberts and Drew Padgett were second in 8:52.45.

The meet resumes today at 9 a.m.
