COUNTY: ‘Hoodwink’ bid fails
Mr. Brooks, in response to your characterization of the citizens of Kootenai County who attended the meetings of the Study Commission as THUGS bemoans your credibility and understanding how our government works.
Do you understand that it is our right and responsibility to monitor you? To use the Coeur d’Alene Press as your pulpit lacks integrity. The AFOG is dead. You and Fillios tried to hoodwink the citizens, but you lost.
You and Fillios attempted to stack the deck on the study commission. Botting and his lackeys tried through legal and illegal measures to push it through. This is a direct reflection on you and your contemporaries. Your reputations are sullied and this upcoming election will be proof of it. Glossing over the violations that study commission committed, is criminal.
Commissioner Leslie Duncan said Wednesday via email that Kootenai County’s form of government isn’t the problem. Rather, she said, it’s the people in government who determine positive or negative outcomes for county residents. Leslie is right. If the job is too difficult, step down.
