Suspicious package prompts road closures, evacuations
A suspicious package caused a ruckus Monday morning.
According to a press release, Kootenai County Sheriff deputies and Northern Lakes Fire and Rescue were on scene of a suspicious package near the intersection of Ramsey Road and Honeysuckle Avenue.
"Due to the unknown contents of the package, the roads were blocked in that area and some residents were asked to evacuate," the release said.
Atlas Elementary School was also notified of the incident. Deputies using a robot "determined the package was not a danger to the public."
The road was reopened and residents allowed to return home.
