PREP GOLF: Nipp leads Coeur d'Alene boys to victory at Lake City invite

COEUR d’ALENE — Led by a 2-under-par 70 from Trey Nipp, the Coeur d’Alene boys golf team shot 295 to win the Lake City Invitational by 33 strokes on Monday at the Coeur d’Alene Golf Club.

Cole Jaworski shot a 72 for Coeur d’Alene, which had all five players shoot in the 70s. Grant Potter shot 75, Parker Freeman 78 and Luke West 79 for the Vikings.

Lewiston was second with a 328.

Wyatt Johnson shot 83 for Lake City, which finished fifth. Brodyn Compton shot 83 for Post Falls, which was sixth. Brady Hanna shot 85 for Lakeland, which came in seventh.

Lewiston, led by medalist Mollie Seibly’s 84, won the girls tournament by 20 strokes with a 370.

Payton Blood shot 92 for Coeur d’Alene, which was second.

St. Maries boys, girls win at Logos tourney

CLARKSTON, Wash. — Seth Swallows of St. Maries was second in the boys event with an 83, leading the Lumberjacks to a 10-stroke victory over Lapwai at the Logos tournament at Red Wolf Golf Club.

Keianna Olson of St. Maries was girls medalist with a 93, leading the Lumberjacks to the team title by 46 strokes.

The tourney was moved from the University of Idaho Course in Moscow due to recent cold and snowy weather in the Palouse.

Beau Jones of Lakeside was third among the boys with an 88.

Kaitlyn Kelley of Genesis Prep was second among the girls with a 101.

C.J. Elliott of Genesis Prep recorded a hole-in-one on the par-3 13th hole.
