CROP ministry parent/teen forum today in Hayden

CROP Ministries is hosting its monthly parent/teen forum from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today in Hayden.

Christian Rite of Passage is a parent-led teen mentorship program for families with middle school aged teens.

At this event, teens will hear about different types of depression, how to recognize the signs, and where to get help. A mother who lost her 16-year-old daughter to suicide will share her testimony.

Mark Martinez, founder of CROP Ministries, said Idaho is fifth in the highest number of suicides per 100,000 residents, according to the CDC.

“This rapid increase in depression, self-harm and suicide among our young people must be addressed, and parents need help," he said.

A parent is required to attend CROP events with their teen.
