Tensed Days coming back

TENSED - This town of 123 people is soon to unite just like in the good, old days.

Tensed Days, last held in 2018, is back on the agenda for July 9.

"We wanted to get community togetherness back," said Julie Koropatniki, city clerk.

The celebration will include a free-throw tournament, Junior Olympics, games for children, a gun show and food and crafts.

It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the city park.

Tensed Days kind of fell by the wayside for a few years as no one organized it, and then was scuttled longer due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Koropatniki said she and others took the reins this year and are excited things are coming together. Word of the return of Tensed Days is beginning to spread.

Their goal is "to bring back small-town spirit, with a sense of community. We want to preserve our values, culture and integrity while growing in a positive direction to embrace growth."

Tensed is about 50 miles south of Coeur d'Alene by U.S. 95.

Volunteers and vendors are needed to make Tensed Days a success.
