Council to hear about dock proposal
The Coeur d’Alene City Council on Tuesday is expected to hear a proposal for two docks to be built on the Spokane River near the Harbor Center for business operations for public water-based recreation.
Watercraft rentals are likely to be used under the plan, which would see the city giving riparian rights to winning bidders. It is expected to generate at least $30,000 for the city.
Parks Director Bill Greenwood recently outlined the plan to the General Service Public Works subcommittee, which forwarded it to the City Council while saying it wanted to give the public a chance to comment, as it would affect an area that is heavily used in the summer.
The City Council will also consider approval of the renewal of a lease agreement with Lake Coeur d’Alene Cruises for the commercial docks at Independence Point, as well as approval of the solicitation of request for proposals for mobile food concessions at Atlas Waterfront Park.
The meeting is set for 6 p.m., on Tuesday, in the Coeur d'Alene Library Community Room.
