SPORTS: Trouble with transgender

| April 1, 2022 1:00 AM

“Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964: Makes it illegal to discriminate against someone on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or sex.”

We are to be nondiscriminatory in the workplace, and other life pursuits. Anyone born in a minority group didn’t choose to be born that way, it’s just an act of nature.

If things are given us by nature, how is it possible to choose otherwise? Can I, being an overweight 60-year-old white male, suddenly decide to be a trim 20 something Black female just because I feel like it?

If I could artistically transform myself to look like one how long would it be before I was “found out?” The passing of time would bring about the consequences of reality.

There are consequences to every choice. If I choose to use performance enhancing drugs to win the Tour de France, I will get banned from future participation. Should I choose to become a female and compete in female sports, would it be any different than choosing performance enhancing drugs?

Why do we have men’s sports and women’s sports? Men’s swimming and women’s swimming? Men’s basketball and women’s basketball? Why not just have basketball, or swimming?

No wonder that fairness minded people in some states have banned transgender males from competing in female sports. It’s simply not fair play. And those males choosing to become “female” should be taught there are consequences associated with their choice, including being banned from any future participation!

Let’s be fair and “Play ball!”
