HAMMOND: For Cd’A mayor

| September 29, 2021 1:00 AM

I am writing to recommend and support Jim Hammond for the office of mayor of the city of Coeur d’Alene. It has been my privilege to know and work with Jim for more than 20 years.

Jim has a long history of public service as a City Councilman and mayor of the city of Post Falls, as an Idaho State Senator, as Chair of the Senate Transportation Committee, and as City Administrator of both Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls.

In addition, Jim has been active in the community, serving on numerous boards, including: Vice President of the Idaho State Board of Education; University of Idaho Board of Regents; Association of Idaho Cities; United Way of Kootenai County; Post Falls Education Foundation; Kootenai County Jobs Plus; Chairman of the Idaho Charter School Commission; secretary of the Panhandle Area Council; University of Idaho Coeur d’Alene Advisory Board; Post Falls Chamber of Commerce; and President of the Spokane River Property Owners Association and the Post Falls Food Bank Board.

Jim currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Idaho State Building Authority, as chairman of the Idaho State Racing Commission and as president of the North Idaho Crisis Center Board.

I cannot think of a person more qualified to provide outstanding leadership to the city of Coeur d’Alene and our region as we deal with the stresses of growth.
