COVID: Common sense precautions

| September 29, 2021 1:00 AM

Whether you are vaccinated or not, there is ample evidence that everyone, whether vaccinated or not, should be taking a few simple supplements that are proven to be safe and seem to show a strong positive impact on reducing the severity of COVID.

Take Vitamin D3, a minimum of 5000mg units a day. Take zinc, at least 25 mg a day or 50 mg every other day, take Vitamin C at least 2,000 units a day (or at least 4,000 units if you don’t drink juices or eat fruit).

Some documentation asserts higher does are better but these would be good minimums. None of these supplements builds up in the body and the fact that they are “removed” by the body, is why so many people are at less than optimum levels for fighting COVID.

There is a lot of other information on other supplements that might help (no ‘mass studies, just small studies but many show these supplements as helpful — or the corollary, that severely ill patients are most often deficient in these vitamins).

Our government might help by making D, C and Zinc available for a reduced price or free for those who can’t afford them. It’s a lot less expensive than boosters.
