NIC GOLF: Swan, Cardinal men in hunt after first day at LC State tourney

LEWISTON — The North Idaho College men are in third place, and Cardinal James Swan is in second place, after the first day of the Warrior Invitational on Monday at the Lewiston Country Club.

Swan shot rounds of 71 and 66 on the first day, and his 7-under-par 137 is one shot back of the leader heading into today’s final round. NIC shot 578, five back of leader Lewis-Clark State and one behind University of British Columbia.

In the women’s tourney, NIC is in fifth place, led by Bella Gopwani, who is tied for 11th after shooting 78.

Kyla Currie of LC State, formerly of Lake City High, is tied for 20th after shooting 84.
