VAX, MASKS: Political strategy suggestion

I’ve read with interest the differing thoughts and justifications regarding people’s different viewpoints regarding the vax or no vax, mask or no mask controversy.

Obviously, it seems the liberal Democrats overwhelmingly want everybody to mask up and get vaccinated, whereas the conservative Republicans overwhelmingly want choice in the matter and for the most part are opposed to masks and vaccinations.

Since this issue has turned into a “political” question, it seems to me that the liberal Democrats are taking the wrong approach to mandates.

If, in fact, more than 90 percent of the hospitalized patients are unvaccinated and those dying of COVID are well over 90 percent unvaccinated, the liberal Democrats would be “politically” smarter to relax the push for mandates because the people who are going to die are going to be the Bible-thumping Trumpers. With the death rate climbing into the hundreds of thousands, it might make it easier for Democrats to win some of the close swing states in the future.

Of course, the conservative Republicans are going to say that the more than 90 percent figures regarding hospitalized patients and deaths are probably just another “big lie.” I say let them believe that and see what happens.
